The “Kyokushin (Kay) Senshi Karate” style karate tournament dedicated to the dear memory of the Honored Coach of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the late Mir-Ali Seyidov has ended.
About 400 athletes representing different regions of the country in different age and weight categories tested their strength in the tournament. Karate players from numerous sports clubs participated in the competitions, demonstrating high determination and professionalism.
The event was attended by well-known representatives of the country’s sports community, veteran athletes, coaches, referees, heads of various sports clubs and family members of athletes.
The tournament began with the playing of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and then a minute of silence was observed in memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who gave their lives for the Motherland.
Speaking at the event, MP Ulvi Guliyev, President of the Azerbaijan Karate Federation, noted that the late Mir-Ali Seyidov had made significant contributions to the development of Azerbaijani karate. It was noted that Mir-Ali Seyidov had worked tirelessly for many years to develop karate, educate young people in a patriotic spirit, and promote a healthy lifestyle.
Ulvi Guliyev emphasized that Mir-Ali Seyidov was not only a professional coach, but also an influential sports figure with high human qualities. The achievements of his students in various local and international competitions occupy a special place in the history of Azerbaijani sports. The deputy noted that such tournaments are of great importance in terms of both increasing the interest of young people in sports and perpetuating the memory of outstanding sports figures.
As part of the tournament, the family members of the late Mir-Ali Seyidov were presented with plaques, honorary certificates, and commemorative gifts by the Azerbaijan Karate Federation. At the same time, a number of coaches and athletes were awarded in various nominations.
The head of the “Kyokushin (Kai) Senshi Karate” style, the Secretary General of the Azerbaijan Karate Federation, Gabil Sayadov, and the style’s board played a special role in organizing and holding the competition. The high-level organization of the tournament was met with great appreciation by the participants and guests.
The guests who spoke at the end expressed their gratitude to the organizers of the competition, stating that the memory of Mir-Ali Seyidov would always be remembered with respect.
